Introduction

There have been various initiatives by insurance companies and related organizations for preventing, combating, investigating fraud, trying to protect the companies’ bottom lines and bringing the perpetrators of fraud to the book. There have been various initiatives like Coalition against Insurance Fraud, Insurance Fraud Bureau and IRDAI’s Insurance Fraud Monitoring Framework etc. In this context, Insurance Institute of India introduced the CIAFP course in association with NATG. The objective of the Course is to cover all academic and practical aspects of fraud fighting, fraud detection cum investigation and fraud prevention in insurance. NATG is a worldwide provider of Insurance Fraud & Investigative Training offering On-Line and In-Person Training Programs to all lines of insurance and investigative personnel.

The program covers all aspects of fraud detection, investigation, prevention and fighting. The course aims to create anti-fraud professionals to prevent, avoid, and eradicate fraud in the Indian insurance industry. There are 15 modules covering all aspects of Insurance fraud in the various field notably health insurance, motor insurance, life insurance and property insurance.

Candidate passed Licentiate in any branch (Both life and Non-life) is eligible for CIAFP course.

Online Examinations:

There is no pointing system for the diploma.

The course is delivered on the e-learning / Training mode through 15 online modules with assessment after every module. The access for online modules will be available for 6 months from the date of enrolment. The candidate must score minimum 70% marks in each end-module assessment and then can move to next module until he completes all 15 modules.

Exam Schedule

As the course can be completed on line by studying 15 modules on line and appearing the assessment exam for each module, the course can be registered and completed throughout the year at the convenience of the candidate. However, the compulsory 3 days training is conducted by the College of Insurance 3 to 4 times a year and are announced by them from time to time.

Course Structure:

There are two parts of the Course (Part 1 & Part 2) and an annual refresher

Part 1: Course Content:
The course is delivered on the e-learning / Training mode through 15 online modules with assessment after every module. The access for online modules will be available for 6 months from the date of enrollment. The candidate must score minimum 70% marks to go ahead from one module to the next module of e-learning / Training.

Part 2: Training:
Three days of Classroom training is mandatory for course completion.

Part 3 Annual Refresher
Continuing education of 3 hours every year is required after completing CIAFP to maintain certification.

Duration of the course is 1 Year from the date of enrollment.

Pattern of Questions

Assessments Questions are of objective type in nature and will consist of Multiple-Choice questions (MCQ). Each modules comes with 25-40 MCQ questions with 4 or 5 options. You have to choose the correct option. There is no negative mark for wrong question. The pass mark is 70.

Eligibility:

Only candidates who have passed the Licentiate Examination of the Institute will be eligible for entrance in any Diploma program of the Institute, unless they are exempted from appearing in Licentiate Exam. Some exemptions are available to candidates based on their prior qualification.

For Licentiate examination, below is the entry qualification requirements

A candidate will be eligible to appear for the Associate examination if he has,

Successfully completed Matriculation, S.S.L.C., S.S.C. or any equivalent examination;
OR
Has worked with an insurer either in the field or in the office, for a period of at least three years prior to the date of registration

SYLLABUS:

The syllabus in the study courses is indicative and not exhaustive. Candidates are expected to know up-to-date developments in the Insurance Industry. Since it is a continuous process to update and to revise the study courses from time to time, candidates are advised to refer the contents given on the III website. How to enrol for the Exam

Licentiate (or higher) members of III can enroll for CIAFP course online, through option available on III website under “Exam Registration” as “Online Course – Certified Insurance Anti-Fraud Professional (CIAFP)”

Duration of the course is 1 Year from the date of enrollment (Part 1 & Part 2). Candidate has to complete Part 1 within 6 months and part 2 thereafter within 12 months of registration.

CERTIFICATE

The course will be administered by Insurance Institute of India, However Certificate will be issued jointly by III & NATG after successful completion of both Online e-learning / Training and Classroom Training.

Online Course enrollment fees: INR Rs.4900/-.Classroom training fee: Residential Rs.12,900/-
The Annual Refresher – INR 200/- per year.
